About SACH
SACH is registered non Governmental, non profitable entity of dedicated professionals working for the rehabilitation and reintegration of the survivors of organized violence and torture, without any discrimination. The organization operates on interdisciplinary and holistic approach and takes into consideration the total well being of the servitors. The organization was established in 1994.

Vision of SACH
The vision of SACH is to see a violence free society, where human beings specially marginalized sections of the society could practice their rights without any fear of being exploited and exposed to violence and torture.

Mission and Objectives

To initiate work for the elimination of all forms of traumatic Human Rights Abuses

To raise consciousness against torture, violence and cruel inhuman Rights treatments and punishments and organized public meeting and seminars for advocacy.

Training professional to work with victims of torture

To provide feedback to the government on policy implications regarding all forms of institutionalized traumatic Human Rights Abuses.

To work with a multidisciplinary approach to provide the survivors with services they require and to reach out to the survivors, Like in prisons.

To coordinate with other national and international Human Right Groups.

Major Activities

Since 1994, SACH- Struggle for Change is working on the violence against women and children issue. The organization is working on the violence against women and children issue. The organization is working for the rehabilitation and reintegration of the survivors of violence and torture.
Sach operates on an interdisciplinary and holistic approach and take into consideration the overall well being of the survivors.

Sach has an intensive rehabilitation program, which provides assistance to the clients by a group of professionals who have acquired special training in the management of violence/torture survivors and families.
Sach has developed a trusting relationship at the grass root level through out reach activities and awareness raising programs on CRC, CEDAW, and CAT etc.

Affiliations

At national level SACH is closely working with the government of Pakistan, Ministry of Women Development, Social Welfare and Special Education in its on going crisis center for women Program, women police station, ministry of law and human rights, Quid-e-Azam University Islamabad and other educational institutes, United Nations system in Pakistan like UNHCR, UNIC and UNICEF etc.

Human Resource development to Support Women Victims of Violence
One of the main objectives of Sach is to train professionals to work with the victims of violence/Torture. In order to fulfill this objective, Sach has arranged one year training programs for professional to enable them to work with victims of violence/Torture. In 2002, Sach initiated a program for human resource development with the support of Gender Equality Project of the DFID for 25 internees dealing with Victims of Torture and Violence. Sach comprising medical doctors, Psychologists. Lawyers and Physiotherapists provided these internees with extensive training.

The overall objective of the training

To impart legal and paralegal training to female professionals under an internship program, so that access to relief and justice can be institutionalized in rural areas and urban slums for victims of violence and torture.
To create multiple empirical tools for raising awareness about the issues of violence and torture in selected colleges, schools, law colleges and the community.

Focus of this training is on developing capacity of the interns in dealing with different human rights issues by introducing them to various tools available on harmonized basis. The training sessions focused on paralegal and rehabilitation work. With emphasis on counseling, socio-legal jurisprudence and psychotherapy to address stress related anxiety and tension of the violence/torture victims.
Addition, these trainees were attached with SACH team of experts to gain some field experience and assess the difficulties of the fieldwork. Seven trainees have been awarded with a hardship to obtain higher degree in psychology, Law and Sociology. Others have been arranged in 3 Victim Support Units one each in Abbotabad, DI Khan and Gojar Khan. Out of 3 Units the DI Khan Victim Support Unit is still sustaining.
